About
Dutch artist Rob Van Hoek headlines The Biscuit Factory's 13-week long winter exhibition with his new collection of landscape paintings.
Every season, the gallery – housed in a former Victorian warehouse in Newcastle's cultural quarter - exhibits and sells a mix of paintings, prints, sculpture, glass and ceramics from more than 250 local, national and international artists and makers.
Highlights this winter include a new portrait series from India Amos, classically trained at the renowned atelier Lavender Hill Studios in London; and new sculptural pieces hand-built from stoneware clay from York-based ceramicist Chiu-i Wu.
The gallery also presents two thematic jewellery collections. ETHICAL celebrates sustainable and eco-friendly practices within contemporary jewellery making, meanwhile 100 Rings spotlights handmade rings from more than 40 independent jewellers.
A new showcase of electro-luminescent wire creations and illuminated art designs from the team at Saltburn-based Light up North will also take up residence in The Biscuit Factory's all-new social space, Artisan.
