Industrial Tyneside

About

"Riverside Voices" was commissioned by St James' Heritage & Environment Group as part of their Heritage Lottery funded project to explore the experience of war and peace on West Newcastle. The period of WW1 saw the peak of employment and production in the riverside area. Today there is almost no trace of the great industries that once filled the riverbanks - but the memories remain. Mixing archive film and photographs, interviews and the run of the tide, Riverside Voices traces the life of the riverside over the 20th century. The film was directed by local film maker Adrin Neatrour and produced by Judith Green who makes a welcome return tonight.
