Great North Steam Fair at Beamish Museum

About

As part of Beamish Museum's Great North Festival of Transport, join us for our annual (and famous) steam fair – The Great North Steam Fair!

The Great North Steam Fair takes place at Beamish Museum and features magnificent locomotives, traction engines, steam rollers, cars, lorries and motorbikes, along with fascinating demonstrations and exhibitions.

Star attractions confirmed so far for 2019:

Manchester Tram 765 courtesy of Heaton Park Tramway.

Blackpool & Fleetwood ‘Box’ 40 courtesy of Crich Tramway Village/National Tramway Museum.

River Irt visiting from the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and Katie courtesy of Ravenglass Railway Museum – a demonstration line has been laid at The Colliery railway and you’ll be able to take a short train ride hauled by River Irt and Katie – the first 15-inch gauge locomotives to operate at the museum!

Visit a Model Tramway Exhibition in the Collections Study Room at the Regional Resource Centre on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th April. Enjoy 10 model tram layouts, including a model of Beamish! Two trade stands will be selling model tram kits and accessories.

1906 Morriss steam car – the sole survivor of only four Morriss steam cars ever built. The company was based in London and is not to be confused with the more famous Morris (spelt with one S) Motors of Oxford.

The Great North Steam Fair is the first event of our Great North Festival of Transport which also includes Horses at Work.

The festival, as with all daytime events, is included in admission to Beamish and is free to Unlimited Pass holders. For more information visit www.beamish.org.uk.

Guide Prices

As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass!
