Festival of Food: Artisan Food Fair at Rockliffe Hall

Artisan Food Fair taking place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2019

This is a complimentary event (please note charge applies for the Spirit Schools which need to be pre-booked) taking place in the Rockliffe Suite, Grounds & Looking Glass House

The Artisan Food Fair will run during the first weekend of the festival, with many of the region's finest artisan food producers inviting visitors to sample and buy their products.

Guests will also be able to enjoy food from the Middle East, Caribbean, Greece and Germany while event sponsors G&G Goodfellows, will be showing visitors how to ‘bring home the restaurant’ look with their new tableware brand ‘Goodfellows at Home’.

Rockliffe’s three Executive Chefs will host live demos on Saturday 2nd February and the Great British Menu chefs, will be showcasing their talent at the food fair on Sunday 3rd February when they are joined live on stage by the region’s top food producers, using their ingredients to cook dishes.

Saturday 2nd February

The Rockliffe Chefs:

11am – Paul O’Hara and Simon Raine, of Weardale Cheese

12.30pm – Richard Allen and Lizzy Hodcroft, from The Sweet Beet

2.00pm – Aaron Craig and Nick Fairly, of Fairley’s Fine Condiments

3.00pm – Cooking with Durham Gin.

Sunday 3rd February

The Great British Menu Chefs:

11am – Daniel Fletcher

12.30pm – Danny Parker

2.00pm – David Coulson

3.00pm – Dave, Danny and Dan: Great British Menu Highlights.

The Artisan Food Fair includes:

50 indoor and outdoor artisan food stalls to browse

Live cookery demonstrations throughout both days in the Looking Glass House

Exhibitors confirmed include North Chocolates, piccalilli company Calder’s Kitchen, The Sweet Beet Condiments and The Clucking Pig Company, which recently won Best Game Farmers’ Market Stall at the Eat Game Awards for its gourmet Scotch eggs

Please note elements of this event are outdoors, so appropriate footwear and warm coats are recommended.
