Downy Duckling Days at WWT Wetland Centre

About

Downy duckling days are back! Join WWT Washington this May half-term and meet the latest fluffy arrivals at their specialist duckery.

Meet tiny ducklings and goslings and hear about the work WWT does to save some of the world’s most endangered waterbirds. Daily duckery talks will give you a behind-the-scenes look at what we do here at WWT Washington. You'll also get the chance to meet one of our little fluffy arrivals as they're held safely in our keepers' hands. (Talks are drop-in sessions lasting 10-15 minutes each between 1-2pm)

Our outdoor nursery will also be welcoming visitors to see what happens when youngsters are old enough to venture out of the indoor nursery. Open between 12noon and 2pm, our team will be on hand to talk to you about our birds and get close to them as they take their first wobbly outdoor steps.

PLUS

Daily pond dipping sessions (drop-in between 10.30-11.30am) - join our learning team as they pick up their nets and search for diving beetles, water boatman and many more insects from the world underwater at the Pond Zone.

Daily crafts (2-4pm) - get creative with crafts in the Discovery Centre (small charge applies)
