The Cyclone Festival Of Cycling: 28 June - 1 July 2018

The Cyclone Festival of Cycling was created in 2007 to encourage as many people as possible to get out on their bikes, get fitter and enjoy the countryside. It is a multi faceted event designed to cater for the needs of competitive and none competitive cyclists. There are events to meet the needs of all who wish to compete or just ride for pleasure as well as allowing spectators to see some of the best riders in the World in action.

Since the inception of the event in 2007 participant numbers have quadrupled and over £2.5M has been raised for various charities. It is also estimated by Northumbria Tourism that the event generates over £1.5M pa for the local economy. The event is now one of the biggest and possibly the biggest event of it's type and attracts riders and participants from all over the World. The 2011 edition of the event hosted the British National Road Race Championships. The National Championships, both Road and Time Trial, return for 2018.
