Betfred Eider Chase Raceday at Newcastle Racecourse

Get ready for the first big race of 2018 the Betfred Eider Chase!

Join Newcastle Racecourse for a Saturday afternoon of great jump racing, featuring the historic Betfred Eider Handicap Chase, a trial for the most famous jump race of them all, the Grand National. Like most recently, Comply Or Die, will we see an Eider hero go on to claim Aintree glory?

The Eider Chase is named after the black & white Eider breed of duck. Historically, Newcastle Racecourse hosted a set of races named after many breeds of duck, that lived within the High Gosforth Park estate, in which Newcastle Racecourse is set. The Eider Chase is the most famous and last remaining race of the set, first run in 1952, this will be the 47th running of the race.

This is a Category B fixture
