Seafield Caravan Park, Seahouses

Award: Caravan Holiday Park of the Year 2014

Winner: Seafield Caravan Park, Seahouses

If you’re looking for a peaceful holiday that offers breathtaking scenery and golden sandy beaches, Seafield Caravan Park is the place for you.

Established in 1960, the site is in a prime location at the seaside resort of Seahouses - overlooking the beautiful Farne Islands. By 1979, the park had grown to over 200 pitches and has since continued to grow and expand into one of the best caravan parks in the North East.

Providing five-star service at every possibility, it is no wonder the park is continuously achieving its mission of 'going far beyond expectations'.

It's hard not to find something for your tastes, with the park offering everything from holiday homes and lodges to rocky shore apartments.

Last year its great success was acknowledged by North East Tourism Awards judges, who honoured it with the Caravan Holiday Park/Holiday Village of The Year Award.

We decided to ask them a few questions about why they entered and how it has affected their business.

Why did you enter the North East England Tourism Awards 2014?

We have entered a number of times as we wanted to offer our customers the best holidays here at Seafield Park, as well as receiving recognition of being the best caravan Park in Northumberland.

What did it feel like to win?

It felt great to win, we have won seven years in a row and our staff deserve the award for all the hard work they put in.

For us the owners, it’s great that the hub of our business (the staff) receive the award they deserve.

What impact has it had on your business?

The local press coverage is great and after winning the regional awards, we were able to enter the national final - which we have won twice.

In your opinion, how important are the North East England Tourism Awards?

They are very important for the county, the businesses who are up there offering the best Northumberland has to offer, we need to shout about it and the region getting recognition too.

Why do you think other businesses should apply?

Other businesses should apply as even if they don’t win they can see what they can do to increase their chances and also see what their ‘competition’ is doing!

Will you be entering again this year?

No, we aren’t going to enter this year; we feel we should take a year out as we have entered for a number of years.
