Case study: Large Hotel of the Year - Rockliffe Hall

30th August 2016

Categories: NETA - blog

A hidden gem in the North East of England, Rockliffe Hall is a five-star luxury golf and spa hotel offering an award-winning spa, an 18 hole championship golf course and three exceptional restaurants. The 18th century hotel won ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ in the 2015 awards and also went on to win gold for the same category at the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence earlier this year.

Speaking about their success Eamonn Elliott, Chief Executive at Rockliffe Hall, said: “Winning the award is a fabulous achievement for everyone at Rockliffe Hall – we know we have a stunning resort here and that everything we do is five star, but to have this confirmed by winning a prestigious award means so much. We were delighted to win, and in such a strong category. To go on and win the VisitEngland Large Hotel of the Year Award just strengthened our belief that Rockliffe Hall and its staff are the best of the best.

“It’s meant that we stand out from our competitors, which in turn is fantastic for team morale, attracts the top people who want to come and work for the best, and it’s generated some great PR for the resort. All of that, and, our guests love the fact they’re staying at the best Large Hotel in the North East – and now, of course, in the whole of England!”

Eamonn went on to comment that just being shortlisted, let alone winning, gives endless benefits, saying: “The North East England Tourism Awards are the ones every business in our industry, in our region, wants to win.

“They’re incredibly important because they help raise the profile of the North East as the fabulous destination we all know it is, and also they recognise the hard work and dedication of the tourism industry that’s taking place up here, every day.”

I’m sure you have already guessed it but Eamonn has confirmed that Rockliffe Hall will “of course!” be entering the awards again this year.
