Event Durham is Durham University’s conference and events team and provides a bespoke service for every aspect of events.

Venues range from the modern and recently refurbished Durham University Business School, to the historic Durham Castle.

Event Durham’s primary focus is to attract more national and international academic conferences to the region by offering a professional service and organising world-leading conferences. Event Durham, Durham University won the ‘Business Tourism Award’ in the 2015 awards.

Event Durham entered because they “want to let everyone know what fantastic venues we have to offer and what a great service we provide.” Going on to say “we were absolutely thrilled” to win. 

They found winning the award is a great way to gain publicity - and now they can officially tell their clients how great they are.

Aside from the publicity involved, the team felt that the North East England Tourism Awards “is a good opportunity to really evaluate your own product offer and service to ensure that you are operating as you should be and offering the best service possible.”

The team plan to enter the awards again this year and we look forwarded to their application.
