Case study: Access for All Tourism Award - Sage Gateshead & Gateshead Old Town Hall

27th July 2016

Categories: NETA - blog

Opened in 2004, Sage Gateshead is a music venue, offering performances across all musical genres and musical participation programmes for all ages. Sage Gateshead and all aspects of its work, regionally, nationally and internationally is managed and programmed by North Music Trust.  Located on Gateshead Quays, Sage Gateshead is a landmark building and a must-see visitor attraction.  Sage Gateshead was built to be accessible and won ‘Access for All Tourism Award’ (alongside NUFC & Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events) in 2015.

Sage Gateshead said they were delighted to have won the Access for All Tourism Award in multiple years and being shortlisted “is a positive reflection of the hard work and dedication of the team at Sage Gateshead and our commitment to continuously providing an accessible and amazing experience for all of our visitors.”

Sage Gateshead found that being recognised by the judges amongst the best in the region could make a real difference to how their business is perceived and is something they could, and still can, shout about in marketing activity.

Sage Gateshead said: “Other businesses should apply as being shortlisted for an award or winning a category is a great endorsement and a reflection of excellence.  They are definitely recognized by the public and also receive significant media coverage.”

Sage Gateshead plan to enter the awards again this year and we wish them the best of luck.
