Leaplish Waterside Park is a holiday park set within the heart of Kielder Water & Forest Park, and were the proud 2015 winners of ‘Holiday Park / Holiday Village of the Year’.
The park has come joint first and third in the past, but the team said “to win outright was an amazing feeling.”

The team entered the awards as they “love to be part of celebrating the North East.” They believe there are many amazing things about the North East which can sometimes be forgotten – but say the North East England Tourism Awards give businesses an opportunity to shout about those amazing things, and showcase them on a national stage at the later VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

“Being associated with the event has raised our profile across the North East, it has given us an opportunity to meet and socialise with other businesses and also attracted new visitors. We were one of seven businesses within Northumberland to win a gold award and this attracted a high level of press coverage for both us and the region. It has also had a positive impact on our employees, to be able to say you work for the best holiday park in the north east makes you proud” they continued.

Why does Leaplish Waterside Park think you should apply I hear you ask? Well according to the team “it is the perfect opportunity to showcase your business, to win is amazing but taking part is also special. It gives you an excellent opportunity to benchmark yourself against your competitors and the awards ceremony evening is always a great way to get to know other entrants.”

Leaplish Waterside Park plan to continue to enter the awards and with our new Dog Friendly Business category there is even more opportunity for success.
