Local Geordie and critically-acclaimed stand-up comedian and TV host Chris Ramsey has been announced as the compere for the 2020 North East England Tourism Awards, which will take place at Newcastle Civic Centre on Tuesday 24 March. Alongside hosting the awards ceremony, guests will enjoy a short stand-up routine.

The North East England Tourism Awards play a major role in showcasing the fantastic range of high quality experiences we offer for visitors here in the North East.

Applications for the 2020 North East England Tourism Awards are now closed and the shortlist has been announced

The awards have had a hugely positive impact on tourism in the North East, providing a benchmark for all businesses to aspire to and delivering significant benefits to shortlisted and winning businesses alike. By simply taking part you could improve your business performance in terms of turnover, profitability, quality, sustainability, staff morale and customer satisfaction.

The North East England Tourism Awards 2020 are being run in association with the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. All Applicants need to progress through a local/regional competition for reach the national Awards. Eligible winners from the North East awards will automatically feed into the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2020 for the chance to be recognised as a national winner.

North East tourism stars celebrated at record-breaking awards

Leading tourism businesses from across the North East were celebrating last night as winners of the North East England Tourism Awards were announced.

BBC Radio Newcastle breakfast show presenter Alfie Joey hosted the awards and entertained guests throughout the evening at Newcastle Civic Centre.
