St Pauls Church and Monastic Site

About

The home of the Venerable Bede, chronicler of the beginnings of English Christianity, Jarrow has become one of the best understood Anglo-Saxon Monastic sites. The Anglo-Saxon Church - with the oldest dedication stone in the country, dated AD 685 - partly survives as the chancel of the Parish Church.

The home of the Venerable Bede, St Paul's is one of the best understood Monastic sites and along with St Peter's has been short-listed as a World Heritage Site.

Take the opportunity to let Wearmouth Jarrow know your thoughts on the bid by completing the online survery at this link www.surveygizmo.com/s/122340/wearmouth-jarrow-public-consultation.
