Life Science Centre

About

Life Science Centre is currently closed until further notice in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic. We will keep you updated as the situation changes.

Life Science Centre in Newcastle is an award-winning visitor attraction a short walk from Newcastle Central Station. Families, science enthusiasts and visitors who are looking for things to do in Newcastle will be able to spend a packed day exploring the must-see attraction - where one ticket gets you everything!

Life Science Centre celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2020 and has a packed programme of events, brand new zones and activities to help you invent, create, explore and play. Marvel at awesome experiments and get involved with audience participation in their Science Theatre's daily shows. Explore the Brain Zone to find out what makes you, YOU!

Step into another world in the North’s biggest planetarium. Be inspired by the wonders of the Universe and how space exploration impacts our everyday lives in the Space Zone.

Get creative in the Making Studio before little ones can become Young Explorers in a hands-on area especially for under 7s. All that and an ever-changing programme of blockbuster exhibitions to inspire both kids and adults alike.

Life Science Centre offers a combination of hands-on and display exhibits which have been designed to bring out your inner scientist, whilst having some fun in the process. There are also several opportunities to speak with industry experts, from game designers to real-life scientists, allowing visitors to get a better understanding of the exhibition.

A fascinating after-hours programme of events created especially for curious adults forms part of the busy event calendar.

Each winter at Life Science Centre, take to the ice on their outdoor ice rink in Times Square and celebrate Christmas in style. A full breakdown of events for the entire year can be found on the official Life Science Centre website.
