Life Science Centre

Life is an award-winning Science Centre in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne where one ticket gets you everything! Hosting a wide portfolio of attractions visitors are guaranteed to find something of interest, tickets are consistently priced between events with a full price list available at the bottom of this page. Headlining events include the likes of the Science Theatre, a 4D Motion Ride*, the North’s biggest planetarium and the Curiosity Zone to name only a small selection.

The Life Science Centre offers a combination of hands-on and display exhibits which have been designed to bring out your inner scientist, whilst having some fun in the process. There are also several opportunities to speak with industry experts, from game designers to real life scientists, allowing visitors to get a better understanding of the exhibition.

Life also has a special area for under 7’s and a changing programme of exhibitions and events. From November to February, Life hosts an outdoor ice rink in Times Square, just outside the Science Centre. A full breakdown of events for the entire year can be found on the official Life Science Centre website.

The hands-on workshops offered by the Life Science Centre allow groups of school children to get real life experience of non-curriculum skills such as game coding to astronaut training.

*For safety reasons, visitors have to be at least 4ft/1.2 metres in height to use the Motion Ride
