Chesters Roman Fort on Hadrian's Wall is open for visitors! Tickets are available to book now.
Chesters Roman Fort is the most complete Roman cavalry fort in Britain and can be found in the heart of Hadrian's Wall country in Northumberland, about 40 minutes outside of Newcastle. Spend a day out wandering around the unusually well-preserved baths and steam room, and the officers' quarters.
Discover an amazing collection of Roman objects and inscriptions in the Clayton Museum. You'll find hundreds of ancient artefacts beautifully displayed with e-readers to guide you around the John Clayton museum.
Take part in a family trail, Chesters Fort Takeover and assume the role of a Roman character and learn all about Romans and the 2000 year old site as you explore.
Relax in Chester's Tearoom, where you can enjoy cakes and light snacks including sandwiches and soups.
