An illustration exhibition showcasing artwork by children from three Gateshead schools working with artists Bethan Laker, Josie Brookes and Clare Armstrong from ‘Set of Drawers’.

Using the theme of Freedom as inspiration, pupils from St Joseph’s RCVA Primary School, St Aidan’s Primary School and Front Street Community Primary School have created characters and imaginary places; every single child that took part has a piece of art work on display.

There will also be workshops throughout the week inspired by the exhibition:

Set of Drawers Illustration Workshop
Monday 23 October, 1pm-3pm
​​​Suitable for ages 8yrs+
​​​​​Join ‘Set of Drawers’ to use our current ‘Illustrate’ exhibition in the gallery to get you inspired and drawing. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own characters and illustrations.

Culture Camp: Illustration
Wednesday 25 October, 9.30am-4.30pm
Suitable for ages 8-14yrs.
Join ‘Set of Drawers’ artist Bethan Laker to develop your own drawing style. Create characters and wild and wonderful illustrations across a full day.
