Quayside

The Quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead is one of the most celebrated parts of the north-east when it comes to eating, drinking and enjoying, thanks to its cultural attractions, bustling nightlife and outstanding choice of restaurants.

Situated on the banks of the River Tyne at the point where the cities meet, there are Quayside restaurants for every taste and occasion. Start your weekend at Quay Ingredient with their famed all-day breakfast menu, and finish up with drinks and snacks at Pitcher and Piano, which overlooks the river.

Fancy trying some regional specialities? Tuck into locally sourced beef or pulled pork burgers at The Bridge Tavern, or a traditional hand-made pie and a pint of craft beer by the fire at Redhouse. If something more exotic is what you seek, the Quayside has some of the best Italian restaurants in Newcastle, including Gusto, Babucho and Sabbatini’s, while Orchid, Mantra Thai and River Beat specialise in the fragrant flavours of East Asia.

Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside is also home to some of the regions’ most revered fine dining restaurants, many of which have made it into our Top 10 restaurants list, including House Of Tides which serves outstanding tasting menus of locally sourced ingredients, and sophisticated gastropub The Broad Chare. Don't miss Dobson & Parnell tucked under the Tyne Bridge which specialises in refined British and European cuisine. Dobson and Parnell is a relatively recent addition to Newcastle Quayside and has already been recognised by Michelin with an inclusion in their 2018 Guide as well as being listed in gastronome's bible - the Harden's Guide 2018. For a truly spectacular dining experience, Six at BALTIC provides unrivalled views along the Quayside.
