The Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre at Winlaton Mill is the perfect place to plan your visit to this amazing area. Bursting with acres of beautiful natural woodland, rich in wildlife and with lots of industrial and cultural heritage to discover, there is something for everyone. Learn about the great industrialist Ambrose Crowley and see how different Derwenthaugh Park was in the 18th century, when the ironworks was in operation. Learn about the fascinating places to visit with our interactive touch screens and grab a bite to eat in café shrub.

Offering hearty breakfasts, seasonal lunches and delicious home-bakes, all made with locally sourced ingredients; café shrub's ever-changing menu offers a mouth-watering selection.  Whether you are looking for a family brunch, a catch-up with friends over coffee and cake, or a quick snack to take into the park with you (and one for the dog too!), you’re bound to find a tasty treat at café shrub.

Opening times vary with the seasons, currently open 9am-5.30pm daily (1 Jan 2019 - 31 Dec 2019)
