Tynemouth Food Festival

Tynemouth Food Festival Logo

For amazing food with a magnificent coastal view to match, the annual Tynemouth Food Festival has you spoiled. Each year in the springtime, the Tynemouth Food Festival takes over the grounds of the beautiful Tynemouth Priory and Castle for a full weekend to bring local foodies the very best of what the north east has to offer. You'd better arrive hungry so that you can make the most of this epic gastronomic event.

Celebrating local artisanal producers including street food businesses, coffee roasters, butchers, bakers, cheesemakers and even Tyneside celebrity chefs, the Tynemouth Food Festival really does have something to tempt everyone. The guests change every year, but among the Medieval ruins you'll find a plethora of stalls from the biggest names in Newcastle street food. Expect big burgers and freshly baked pizza to tuck into, as well as some more exotic options to excite and show off the diversity of the north east's culinary scene.

You could easily lose a few hours browsing the stalls in the food marquee, tasting samples and picking up plenty of treats to take home. If you're looking for inspiration on what to do with all of your delicious purchases, in the chefs marquee you can watch cookery competitions, live cooking demonstrations from local celebrity chefs, or even take part in a practical workshop to hone your skills.

Not only that, but there's always plenty of entertainment on throughout the weekend including live music, performances, culinary-themed activities for the kids, and a bar and a real ale festival for the adults. Plus you can explore the Tynemouth Priory and Castle at your leisure, and take in the stunning unrivalled panoramic views that its location offers.

As the lineup changes every year, the Tynemouth Food Festival is one of the most popular food festivals in the north east, so buying your tickets in advance is recommended. Remember that the whole family is welcome, including your dog, but unfortunately four-legged visitors aren't allowed in the marquees.
