Questions answered by Yasmin Ibrahim, Project Administrator at Newcastle University.

Why did you choose to bring your conference to NewcastleGateshead?
The Postgraduate Course was the pre-event to NuGOweek 2018 - all the post-graduates went on to attend the NuGOweek2018 conference. Newcastle was chosen because it is a very welcoming city with brilliant major transport links and a wide variety of hotels, bars and restaurants.

How do you feel Newcastle University benefitted from bringing the event to NewcastleGateshead?
I feel we benefitted from the excellent choice of venues on offer and, thanks to Newcastle being a compact city, logistics of the conference were easily accommodated. Restaurants and hotels were also easily accessible from The Core for our delegates.

How do you feel your delegates benefitted from the event being hosted in NewcastleGateshead?
Our delegates were able to experience the excellent facilities on offer at the conference venue. The local hotels offer a wide price range and cater to all budgets, and our delegates also had the chance to sample Newcastle’s vibrant social life.

How did NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau support in the organisation of your event?
NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau were very helpful in sourcing potential venues, providing a breakdown of costs and offering a hotel booking website.
