Conference background:
The European meeting of the International Society of Microbial Electrochemical Technologies (ISMET) was held in Newcastle in September 2018. The conference highlighted the latest breakthroughs in microbial electrochemistry research and applications of bioelectrochemical systems, covering topics from fundamentals to scale-up processes, Bioremediation, Resource Recovery and many more.

Why did you choose to bring your conference to NewcastleGateshead?
The conference was organised by Newcastle University and, as there was no suitable space within the University, it made sense to choose a venue nearby which could provide us with the facilities that we needed.

How do you feel you benefitted from bringing the event to NewcastleGateshead?
We had a wide range of choice for both the conference and dinner which allowed us to find the perfect venue for any kind of event.

How do you feel your delegates benefitted from the event being hosted in NewcastleGateshead?
The delegates benefitted from two outstanding venues (Newcastle Civic Centre and Wylam Brewery) that were close to each other, near to the University and within walking distance of the city centre and a range of hotels.

How did NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau support in the organisation of your event?
NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau was extremely helpful in finding the perfect venue for our event and organising visits for us.
