The Newcastle flights have been conveniently timed to connect at New York / Newark with an extensive network of service to destinations throughout the Americas. United flight connections at Newark will link passengers to over 300 North American, Central American, Caribbean and South American destinations.

This new route for 2015 adds to what is set to be an exciting year for Newcastle International Airport, with a host of new routes and destinations for passengers, plus a range of exciting new outlets as part of its £14 million departure lounge development.

David Laws, Chief Executive at Newcastle International Airport, said: “It’s been a hugely successful year for Newcastle International Airport... Recently we achieved our long term goal of securing a transatlantic service to New York with United Airlines. We’re delighted that this will begin to operate in May 2015, tickets are on sale now...

“We’re part way through our exciting £14 million departure lounge development which will be completed in summer 2015. A number of new concepts will open for the benefit of passengers as we continue to invest in our facilities to ensure we achieve our aim of being the UK’s most welcoming airport.”

Other scheduled services to take-off in 2015 include London Stansted flights with Flybe from late March and a year-round service to Geneva with easyJet which recommences in June. These join 80 destinations worldwide that Newcastle International Airport connects directly to – including key business hubs such as Dubai, Brussels, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London and Paris.
