Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days are an annual celebration of England's architecture and culture that allows visitors free access to historical landmarks that are either not usually open to the public, or would normally charge an entrance fee. It also includes tours, events and activities related to architecture and culture.

In 2018 HODs takes place over 2 weekends, Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 September and Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 September.

Newcastle City Guides support the Tyne and Wear Heritage Open Days events each year by organising special walks and visits. 

Tickets for Grey's Monument Friday 14 September are fully booked.

Newcastle City Guides are running an additional monument tour on Friday 17 August, tickets go on sale at 10am Friday 3 August.
