Ouseburn’s widely cherished farm has partnered with The Cluny to arrange Farm Aid, a family-friendly event raising money to support Ouseburn Farm and celebrate local music.   1. Maker Faire UK 2018

Prepare to feel inspired! Maker Faire is coming to Newcastle’s Life Science Centre on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April. With hundreds of hackers, inventors and creatives coming together and sharing their passions, this is just one of the brilliant things to do with kids in Newcastle.

Enjoy the sights of headliners such as Waterlight Graffiti, an art project combining water and LED lights, as you refine your leather-making skills.   1. Newcastle Poetry Festival

This four-day event showcases the finest poets from across the world. With social commentary in the form of titillating wordplay, global politics unspooled during open-minded discussions and multi-genre performances including painting, film and music. With full passes for as little as £22 per person, both cultural aficionados and poetry novices are sure to enjoy The Newcastle Poetry Festival.

  1. Hit the North Festival 2018

Fifteen venues and over 120 acts make up the Hit the North Festival this year. From catchy pop artists to indie rockers, and rising hip-hop musicians to blues and folk singers, this eclectic bunch primed to take the stage this spring are sure to please all music tastes. An opportunity to interact with Newcastle’s expanding vegan community, a whole host of eclectic, delicious foods and stalls offering vegan products and cosmetics are all rounded off by a host of insightful public speakers at the North East Vegan Festival. The event will be at the Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday 5 May, and you can grab a ticket for as little as £3. Whether you’re a veteran Geordie or newcomer to the North, if you’re looking for fun things to do in Newcastle then The Late Shows are your one-stop-shop for adventure, culture and unforgettable moments.
