Spring has sprung in Geordieland, yay! I love this time of year, the lighter nights have made it easier for me to get out and about after work and I've even joined a running group with Active Newcastle (still in shock at this!)

For the last few weeks I've been running through Exhibition Park, one of Newcastle's many pretty parks. It has an impressive bandstand, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball court, croquet lawns and a lovely boating lake which is home to some resident swans. I've had so much fun exploring this peaceful part of the city and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to spend some time in the great outdoors without venturing far from the Toon.

It's a good job I've been burning off some calories because as ever, I have been sampling the delights of Geordieland's bars and restaurants. I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of a new Brasilian place called Cabana in Newcastle and a Thai street food restaurant called Thaikhun which is located at Intu Metrocentre, I had wonderful time eating, drinking and mingling the night away at both eateries. You can read all about it over on the blog: http://www.lifeingeordieland.com

I also spent some quality time with the family who love travelling from the North West for a weekend in NewcastleGateshead. We enjoyed a trip South Shields where spent time playing in the park and sampled the mouthwatering fish and chips from Colmans before heading to the Customs House for a family show, it was a great day out! http://www.lifeingeordieland.com/food/a-family-day-out-in-south-shields/ We also paid a visit to North Shields where the kids loved splashing about at Waves Pool and meeting all the animals at Blue Reef Aquarium, I'll be blogging about that very soon!

Hopefully my family will get the chance to come back again soon because there's so much happening in NewcastleGateshead over the next few months, from The Late Shows to Magic Weekend and Vamos, here's to a busy and brilliant summer, cheers!
