My month got off to a great start with a wonderful weekend of birthday celebrations (21 again!) I decided not to organise too much in advance as I made a promise to my other half to be more spontaneous this year, think the poor fella was sick of me of me planning every second of his spare time! It was a lovely sunny weekend and as soon as my working week ended I headed for one of my favourite pubs in the Toon, The Bridge Tavern. I indulged in way too many cocktails and enjoyed some yummy food at Las Iguanas on Grey Street - highly recommended!

The next day we took a drive to the local seaside town of South Shields and saw Geordie the Musical at the Customs House, it was a great celebration of local culture and I loved it!

To find out what else I got up to during my birthday weekend you can read the full blog here.

Also on the blog is a post about the day Vamos Festival turned up on unexpectedly on my street, I didn't have to venture far for a great afternoon of family fun that day! I've also been reviewing an Italian restaurant in Jesmond, Fratellos is well worth a visit.

Autumn has well and truly arrived in Geordieland over the last few days but that won't put a stop to my weekend adventures so be sure to keep following me on Twitter and checking out the blog to find out what else I get up to.
