Wow, how is the end of July already? I swear the months are going by quicker than usual! The last few weeks are a bit of a blur to be honest, must have something to do with all this lovely sunshine we've been enjoying in the North East, it's tempted me to indulge in a bit of after work alfresco drinking on several occasions this month! When sun has his hat on I love to head down to NewcastleGateshead quayside and I have to say the Tyne Bridge is looking even more fabulous than usual with it's lovely new Bupa Great North Run sign!

I've also been to the quayside to check out the recently improved Waterline Bar and Kitchen, the food was delicious but sadly it did actually rain that day so I couldn't test out the new patio furniture. If you happen to be down there on a hot day it's a great little sun trap!

One place where you never have to worry about the weather is The Gate, it has 19 leisure venues all under one roof, ranging from bars, to clubs to a 16 screen cinema and even a casino! It was the casino that lured me in to do another restaurant review this month, Freya's at Aspers Casino is a bit of a hidden gem!

To be honest, I've become a bit of a foody on my blog recently, but can you blame me with me so many great places to eat here in Geordieland? For a birthday treat I took my boyfriend toCafe 21 where we had the most amazing three course meal, although being rather thrifty, we went for the early evening menu and the posh nosh was only £21 per person!

If you're a food lover like me then you'll definitely want to be part of 'Eat!Out' a ten day festival of quirky, surprising and utterly brilliant food events in amazing outdoor locations across NewcastleGateshead. It kicks off on the 8th August, so no prizes for guessing what I'll be up to next month!
