Well I've heard of April showers but the weather just couldn't make it's mind up at all last month!

There were days when I could have happily walked barefoot along the beautiful North East beaches and others when I was more inclined to hide from the rain in our many museums and galleries!

Thankfully it managed to stay dry the weekend my Mum, Dad, niece and nephew came to visit which meant we could feed the ducks in Leazes Park and visit Pet's Corner in Jesmond Dene.

I'm so lucky to have such wonderful parks to enjoy right on my doorstep!

I also welcomed another visitor to Geordieland, my good mate Gemma travelled 150 miles to join me on a night out in the Toon.

The cities nightlife is legendry and has so much to offer from proper pubs to classy cocktail bars.

We opted for a few pints at the monthly Boiler Shop Steamer event, followed by an intimate gig at Hoochie Coochie where we had the absolute pleasure of seeing Jocelyn Brown perform live (Somebody Else's Guy is like one of my most favourite songs EVER).

Other highlights in the month of April included a lovely lunch at Pizza Express and a visit to one of NewcastleGateshead's most iconic tourist attractions, Baltic.

I love Baltic, there's always something interesting to see and even if you're not interested in modern art, the view alone is spectacular.

Oh, and a special mention must go to the wonderful restaurant at Baltic, Six offers delicious locally sourced food in a wonderful setting and the cocktails are fab too!
