Ye Olde Cop Shop


Ye Olde Cop Shop is situated in the heart of a village that is steeped in history and close the ancestral home of George Washington. This detached stone building is a former police station built in 1866 which according to Whellan (1894) had a residence for a sergeant and six constables.

The Guest House is enthusiastically run by its owners Sheila and Terry who purchased it in 1985 and converted it into a guest house. Sheila has been a guest house proprietor since 1975 and is a member of Tourism Network NorthEast.

Cleanliness, comfort and hospitality is of an excellent standard, with all bedrooms very well equipped. Secured car parking with surveillance cameras, full fire certificate, food hygiene certificate and Welcome Host / International Certificate Holder.
