The Piggery


This beautiful, stone-built conversion from a former Piggery offers a fantastic location for a break just outside of Newcastle City Centre. 

Relax in the comfort of the peaceful and comfortable lounge, which is a real home from home, whilst enjoying views from the extra-large lounge windows out onto to glorious countryside. This cottage sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, all of which are of a good size, there are two bath/shower rooms, Wi-Fi and also the luxury of underfloor heating. Outside you will find a large, decked area with seating which has a fabulous view of the 14th Century Chapel, full of history of folklore.

Woodland walks are just on the doorstep of this delightful holiday cottage, as are walks along the Derwent River. The National Trusts Gibside Estate is also close by and well worth a visit and Newcastle City Centre is just a 20 minute drive away.

Prices includes bed linen, towels, heating and hot water.


Accommodation Summary

Entrance Hall: Doors both to the front and rear.

Utility/Boot Room: With washing machine and tumble drier, large sink and storage cupboards. Books and Games.

Lounge: Light and airy, with plenty of seating on comfortable leather sofas, coffee tables, a flat screen TV with DVD player, games and books and free Wi-Fi for guests.

Dining Area:  Large table and seating for six.

Kitchen: Modern and fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, and plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils etc.

Master Bedroom: King size bed, bedside drawers, wardrobe, mirror, chest of drawers and flat screen TV plus an en-suite shower room.

En-suite Shower Room: With large, walk-in shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2: Twin Bedroom with bedside drawers, wardrobe, mirror and small TV.

Bedroom 3: Twin Bedroom with bedside drawers, wardrobe and mirror.

Family Bathroom: With large, walk-in shower, bath, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. The underfloor heating throughout makes this room even cosier for bath time!
