About

The Barn has just been renovated to a beautiful standard, the building is set within 100 acres of fields and woodland and offers panoramic views across the countryside, a truly idyllic location.

The outdoor space at the cottage is plentiful, enjoy stunning views from the lovely patio area and landscaped grounds. The Barn offers a quiet sanctuary for guests, yet is also the perfect basefrom where you can explore the surrounding area.

Within sight of The Barn is a charming 14th Century Chapel, steeped in history, myths and legends.

Whilst staying at The Barn you can fish in your own private mile long stretch of the River Derwent. Walkers, cyclists and bird watchers alike would all find this the perfect location for a break, there are many local attractions in the area including the National Trust’s Gibside Chapel and Grounds are within walking distance of The Barn. Rowlands Gill Village is just under ½ a mile away where you can find all the usual amenities you may need during your stay. The Pack Horse in Burnopfield is one mile away, a great place to enjoy dinner.

Places to visit nearby include the Beamish Museum, Newcastle City Centre and the Coastal towns of Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. The Barn is perfectly located between countryside, city and coast.

Prices includes bed linen, towels, heating and hot water.

 

Accommodation Summary

Utility/Boot Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer.

Living/dining room: Carpeted living room with large L-shape sofa with seating for six, footstool, traditional stone fireplace with log burning stove (logs provided), large coffee table, flat screen TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi access, radio and CD player and a good selection of books and games. Dining table with seating for five guests.

Kitchen: Modern and fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, family toaster, electric oven and gas hob, cafetiere and dishwasher. Door leading out to garden and patio area.

Master bedroom: Double bedroom (4x6 foot bed), bed side tables, flat screen TV, dressing table with mirror and stool, large free standing mirror, chest of drawers, double wardrobe, hairdryer and fabulous views to garden and towards the Derwent Valley.

Family Bathroom: Bath, walk in shower, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Under stair cupboard: Iron, iron board, clothes airier, child stair gate, high chair, travel cot, vacuum cleaner.

Staircase leading up to:

Mezzanine: Open plan carpeted floor with 3 single beds, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers, wall mounted mirror, exposed beams and Velux windows.

 

Outdoors

Beautiful lawn and patio area surrounded by woodland with garden furniture.

Off road parking for 2 cars in front of The Barn.

 

Please note: There is an additional refundable damage deposit required of £150 when booking this cottage. This is refunded within 5 days from departure following the cleaners' inspection. Please telephone the office on 0191 231 3020 to make this payment. Thank you.
