Cottages in Northumberland: Hill Top Cottage


Hill Top Cottage is a lovely detached, stone-built self-catering property for up to 4 guests. It is situated just outside the village of Lamesley which is a short drive from Newcastle upon Tyne and within easy reach of the A1 – the gateway to Northumberland’s magnificent countryside and award-winning coastline.

The cottage itself has 2 double bedrooms with 2 bath/shower rooms. There is also ample parking, a spacious garden and patio area with a purpose-built timber-frame gazebo for enjoying the warmer days and nights with your friends and family.

There is a lovely pub (The Ravensworth) just a short walk from Hill Top Cottage, which serves a great selection of lunch and evening meals. From the village of Lamesley, you can enjoy views of The Angel of The North, one of the most talked about and viewed pieces of public art in the world – well worth a visit during your stay!

If you fancy a shopping spree, you will be spoilt for choice with two Intu shopping centres on your doorstep, with both the Intu Metrocentre and Intu Eldon Square both just a 15 minutes’ drive from the cottage.  

Accomodation Summary:

Ground Floor – Spacious lounge, dining area and kitchen

Lounge Area – Light and airy with a large sofa and two comfy chairs a coffee table and lamps. There is Wi-Fi, a TV unit with a flat screen SMART TV offering 300 plus channels, as well as radio! Gas central heating throughout.

Dining Area – Dining table and seating for 4.

Kitchen – With electric induction hob and oven, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, cafetiere and kettle. Clothes drier outside. French doors lead out into the patio area at the front.

Master Bedroom – With Double bed, bedside tables and lamps, a large chest of drawers and chrome suit hanger. Low table and DAB Digital Radio (and charger). Two sets of French windows with views to the garden and beyond.

Shower Room – With large corner shower cubicle, wash basin with drawer beneath and mirror over, heated towel rail and WC.

First Floor:

Bedroom 2 -- Mezzanine floor with double bed, bedside table and lamp, a small set of drawers and a rail for hanging clothes, flat screen TV and small chaise longue. 

Bathroom – With free-standing bath, hand wash basin with mirror over and WC.

Outside: Private gravelled driveway leads up to the cottage. The cottage is set within the grounds of the owner’s own property however, Hill Top Cottage offers privacy and is not overlooked from any of the windows.

Lawned garden and patio areas surround the cottage and the timber frame gazebo has lighting and electrics. There is also a BBQ and so, this area offers an excellent option for relaxing with a glass of wine, or al fresco dining and entertaining friends or family.

Bed linen, towels, heating and hot water are included.

Sorry dogs are not allowed at Hill Top Cottage.
