You are here: Accommodation > Bed and Breakfast
Guest Accommodation is the wide-ranging category covering anything from one-room B&Bs to larger, licensed providers, all of which are generally run by the owners.
Bed and Breakfasts generally accommodate no more than six people and are like staying as a special guest in someone’s home, whilst farmhouses offer B&B style services - who’d have guessed it - on a farm!
Classifications explained:
Guest Houses: usually at least three rooms, may offer dinner, may be licensed
Restaurants with Rooms: are just that! Main licensed restaurant business, small number of rooms with B&B style facilities
Inns: pubs with rooms serving food in the evenings and breakfast.
Campus: Enjoy England’s campus scheme covers the universities and colleges that are able to accommodate visitors during vacation periods on a bed and breakfast basis. Campus accommodation is star rated one to five to reflect the quality.
Hostels: safe, budget-priced accommodation for young people, families and larger groups. Star rated to reflect quality. En-suite rooms often provided by higher rated providers.
Ratings at a glance:
Additional services and facilities provided by higher star-rated levels include:
*** Bathrooms/shower rooms cannot be shared with the owners. Non-en-suite bedrooms must have wash-basin in room.
