Beamish Hall Country House Hotel

Beamish Hall is a twelfth century country house hotel in the Beamish Valley, mid-way between the cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Durham. Set in 24 captivating acres of rolling parkland and sculptured grounds, the hall boasts 42 individually designed bedrooms all of which offer historic extravagance and contemporary comfort.

To the rear of the hall is the Stables Restaurant, known for its irresistibly hearty meals, cosy corners and roaring fires. The Stables also has a beautiful courtyard which is perfect for eating al fresco on warmer days. In one corner of the courtyard sits Beamish Hall’s own microbrewery which supplies traditionally made real ales to the Stables and which also hosts tours. The team take pride in offering the warmest of welcomes.

The Eden Tearooms boasts stunning views across the grounds and offers delectable afternoon teas as well as serving what has been described as ‘the best breakfast in the region’.

Beamish Wild is the hall’s outdoor activity centre and offers thrilling and challenging activities such as high ropes and zip wires, axe throwing and archery. It is open to families, school groups and is popular for corporate team building.

Throughout the year the hall offers an exciting and sophisticated calendar of events including regular showings of Afternoon at the Movies which includes sumptuous afternoon tea and a screening of a classic film such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s – this takes place in the grand setting of the Shafto Hall. Other events include live music at the Stables as well as Halloween and Bonfire Night events. The hall comes into its own at Christmas time with a whole month of magical evenings and daytime celebrations taking place.

Beamish Hall is one of the region’s premier venues for weddings, functions and conferences. With the glamourous Monboucher Suite, traditional Shafto Hall and utterly stunning Winter Gardens as well as a selection of smaller, more intimate spaces, there is a room for every possible occasion.

With an array of accommodation packages available, Beamish is the perfect getaway. Try the Beer and Boots package or Champagne, Dine and Dream. We’ll offer you the friendliest of welcomes and the highest quality service no matter why you choose to visit.

Beamish Hall is a 20 minute drive from Newcastle and Durham city centres and only 4 miles from jct 63 of the A1(M).
