to NewcastleGateshead!

It’s official - World Cup football could be played at St James’ Park as NewcastleGateshead has been named by the England 2018 bid team as a host city. If England is selected to host the 2018 World Cup, world-class football will be played at St James’ Park showcasing some of the best footballers in the world.

Thanks to everyone who pledged their support for the bid. This is our chance to show the world that England is the true home of football. With your help we can not only host a world-class tournament, but we can host a festival of football that leaves a lasting legacy and makes the North East proud.
