Festive Shopping

NewcastleGateshead, the region’s shopping capital, has everything you need to get all your Christmas shopping done in one go. You’ll find everything from high-street brands to quirky gifts, huge department stores and independent gems – not to mention Metrocentre, Europe’s biggest shopping and leisure complex! 

Don’t miss the seasonal markets at Grey’s Monument. The Continental Market (Mon 21 Nov – Sat 3 Dec) offers up a gourmet delight and a real taste of Europe. If you fancy a currywurst from Germany, waffles from Holland, paella from Spain or crepes from France, you’ll find a delicious tasty snack and a range of foodie gifts. The Christmas Market (Wed 7 – Sun 11 Dec) welcomes stall holders from closer to home. You’ll find local beers, home-made jams, delicious cakes and a range of handmade chocolates, as well as a fantastic range of locally produced gifts.
