Saltwell Park
You will find Saltwell Park in the heart of Gateshead. Step through the gates and enter a different world. Saltwell Park has been open to visitors since 1876 and is steeped in history.
Known as the ‘People’s Park’, Saltwell Park is at the centre of Gateshead’s community, encompassing 55 acres of landscape – with ornamental and woodland gardens, boating lake, sports facilities, bowling greens, play areas, animal house, maze, education centre and the beautiful Victorian Saltwell Towers.
