The Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre is proud to announce that the hilarious Paul Merton will be returning to our stage on Saturday 19th May 2012.
With help from Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster, discover the bizarre workings of Paul Merton's brain. Watch him muse the mighty behemoth that is his own noggin. Paul returns to his stand-up roots for the first time this century. Away from the 'Have I got News For You' desk Paul Merton proves he's got legs.
Paul started his career by first appearing on The Young Ones in 1984, followed by a string of radio shows, mainly for the BBC Radio 4 sketch show ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ In 1988, this was moved to TV, with Merton moving with it. This is where he quickly gained success, becoming a permanent member of the panel. He continued on the show until 1993, when he moved to ‘Have I Got News for You’, whilst also starring in his own show, ‘Paul Merton: The Series’. Merton’s quick wit and merciless makes him an incredible spectacle to watch, with his expansive knowledge of popular culture and politics ringing clear throughout his performance.
A night of sketches, music, magic, variety and dancing girls (two of them aren’t girls).
