The Garden Shed

Set in Gibside’s historic stables and surrounding woodland, the Garden Shed is a unique arts, crafts and shopping experience...

From felt-making and photography, to natural sculpture and massage, there’s something for every taste, all inspired by Gibside’s natural environment and stories.Meet the artists or see them at work with interactive demos, activities, events and workshops. Purchase inspirational hand-crafted products to take home, or commission something special.

Come and visit!

Core opening times are 11am to 3pm, all week. Several Garden Shed artists will be on site each day. If you're planning to visit a particular business, contact them in advance to check availability. Parking is available in Gibside’s visitor car parks. It is a lovely 15 minute walk to the Garden Shed businesses in the Stables and surrounding area. A shuttle service runs from Gibside’s entrance to the Stables every half hour at weekends and on request mid-week. Several workspaces are upstairs – for disabled access please call us before you visit.

This exciting partnership between the National Trust and Gateshead Council aims to develop the creative sector in the borough by attracting and retaining talent and skills.
