The North East Centre for Lifelong Learning offers a large programme of high quality courses which are open to all and represent excellent value for money. Our courses take place at Newcastle University, Newcastle Arts Centre, The Holy Biscuit, Theatre Royal and at venues across the region.
Our programmes:
Explore: Our membership scheme for lifelong learning. A gym for the mind in central Newcastle for around a fiver a week. Join us to explore art, literature, philosophy, natural science, music, creative writing, history, archaeology and more...taught by experts.
Modern Foreign Languages: Practical courses taught by native speakers. We offer courses from absolute beginners’ to fluent users at native speaker level in a variety of European and Non-European Languages including Japanese and Chinese Mandarin. We also have special grammar and intensive total immersion courses.
The North East Centre for Lifelong Learning in Newcastle is part of the University of Sunderland’s Faculty of Education and Society, Department of Culture.
