On foot and by bike:
½ mile from the Derwent Walk footpath and cycle track (NCN14) between Swalwell and Consett, which links to the lovely trail along the Tyne into Gateshead and Newcastle.
By bus:
Go North East 'The Red Kite' 45, 46 and 47 from Newcastle's Eldon Square bus station and Newcastle railway station to Consett or Blackhall Mill, passing the Metrocentre. Alight at Rowlands Gill for ½ mile walk.
By train:
Blaydon 5 miles, Metrocentre 5 miles, Newcastle Central 8 miles.
