Boardskillz specilises in Stand Up Paddle Boarding & Windsurfing.

In terms of our teaching programme, we provide everything from Stand Up Paddle Taster Sessions and Structured Beginner Courses through to specialist Freestyle /Wave Windsurfing Pro Clinics at some of Northumberland's most picturesque sailing locations.

Stand Up Paddle is fast becoming the en vogue way of staying in shape with celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Pierce Brosnan endorsing the sport's core muscle workout benefits. If you're looking to tone up for the beach or simply want to inprove your balance and posture SUP is an excellent fitness regime. The intention is to roll out regular fitness classes in association with Gyms for 2010.

Alongside SUP's various health benefits, let's not forget it's great fun too! For 2010 we will be introducing a river trip to our portfolio or paddling products. Flat water trips are really accessible to anyone as the learning process is that much easier. Destination paddles will be popular so larger groups should book up well in advance!

The majority of our Paddling Boarding takes place at Longsands Beach, Tynemouth. We offer taster sessions for groups of 6-20 primarily at weekends March-October. If it's flat we'll take you on a coastal cruise. You may even see the pod of dolphins in the bay! If there is some 'manageable' swell we'll get your basic skills sorted first and then show you how to catch a wave! As sensations go there's not much that compares to this feeling.

Our in-house Windsurfing Courses are on a smaller scale, primarily working with beginners and intermediates on a 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 basis. Our Pro Clinics are normally organised around a forecast and tend to happen in the Spring and Autumn/Winter when its consistently howling! Boardskillz will be opening an online store for 2010, offering SUPs from Starboard, Tiki, C4 Waterman and associated equipment alongside Windsurfing kit from some of the more exciting brands!
