So you’ve made the decision to go to The Tall Ships’ Races, next step – how to get there?

If you want to be as close to the event as possible, travel stress-free AND avoid city centre congestion the best way is to Park and Ride

You can leave your car in one of five secure, designated car parks and travel by shuttle bus right into the heart of the event.  

For locals and visitors alike the benefits are obvious as park and ride offers a smart alternative to city centre parking for the savvy event goer.  


On the day

During the event (Monday 25 – Wednesday 27 July) you will be able to park your vehicle in one of five secure car parks –

Gosforth Park, Newcastle
Allendale Road, Newcastle
Town Moor, Newcastle
Lobley Hill, Gateshead
Heworth, Gateshead


From all locations there will be frequent, reliable double-decker coaches taking you directly into the event, arriving every 10minutes from all locations.


Pre-booked spaces

It is important that you enjoy your tall ships experience from start to finish.  To ensure this, we will be offering you the opportunity to pre-book your parking space, avoiding possible disappointment on the day.  
In addition to this, pre-booked spaces will be sold at a discounted rate and each vehicle will receive a FREE Event Guide, worth £3.00!

Rates

Charges are applied per vehicle per visit although there is no restriction on time limit per visit.  

If you pre book - £7 per vehicle
If you pay on the day - £9 per vehicle

All vehicles will receive a free Event Guide worth £3.00 when they park either by pre-booking or paying on the day.
