Climb Newcastle is Newcastle's first dedicated indoor climbing centre, located in Byker, close to the City Centre. The centre offers climbing for kids and adults of all abilities with three floors of facilities in a refurbished swimming pool. The main arena contains over 200 climbs at all levels and on almost every conceivable angle from slabs and vertical walls to overhangs and a giant cave. Several further rooms contain extensive areas dedicated to kids, coaching and training with a shop, cafe and changing facilities. Climb Newcastle is a climbing centre run by some of the most famous climbers in the UK, including former British Champion and World Cup winner Andy Earl who has written and oversees a comprehensive set of coaching and courses. Most popular are kids sessions held every weekend and every day during school holidays in a dedicated room at a less daunting height, where young ones from 3 upwards can get to grips with climbing and enjoy fun games on and off the wall.
