Oak Newcastle

Oak Newcastle is a one of a kind bar and restaurant situated in the heart of the Newcastle quayside. Open all hours of the day, Oak offers something for everyone, from breakfast to late night dancing.

Founded by father and son, Ross and Ashley Arceri, along with family friend, Stephen Grieveson, Oak is situated in the basement of the recently refurbished, Grade 2 listed Milburn House.

A choice of two entrance doors takes you inside to reveal an eclectic mix of wall coverings, decorative brickwork and modern antiques that keep the eye wandering and the imagination guessing. Oak also benefits from an outdoor courtyard and three unique rooms, including the SSHH room.

Our decor provides the perfect setting for top DJ’s and live musicians to provide a cool soundtrack from a range of music genres, encompassing everything from funky northern soul and disco to downtempo and chill house.

Oak offers a wide variety of domestic and international beers, as well as a selection of cask ales from local breweries. If you prefer wine, our well-tailored wine list features a mix of classic favourites as well as a number of well-respected, lesser known labels.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, ask a member of our highly trained bar staff to shake up a mixed drink. We are particularly proud of our extensive rum menu and offer a number of rum based drinks, including the increasingly popular Hemingway Daiquiri – made with Havana club rum, maraschino liqueur and a dash of grapefruit.
