Gosforth's Hidden Gem
Hidden away in a beautiful tree lined corner of Gosforth is The Northumbrian Piper Pub and Restaurant, home of Gosforth's biggest Beer Garden.
For many years this idyllic spot, a minute from the A1, has been the Red House Farm local pub, but now with its rising reputation and fantastic reviews, diners from across the region are being tempted to try out the Piper's culinary delights.
John and Lynne Griffin, the owners since December 2008, together with Paul and Vicki, their management team, re-launched this spectacular looking property in July '09 with a fabulous party. It is now the perfect place for a relaxing get together with family and friends.
Not content with it being a venue boasting "Gosforth's largest beer garden" to entertain clientele of any age, John is using the copious skills of Vicki Hunter, Head Chef, and assistant Helen, to transform the establishment into a fine and high quality eatery.
Given that food miles are kept to a minimum by using the "local butcher," Donald Gilberts of Gosforth, along with a plan, in the not too distant future, to grow most of our own vegetables, we really are serving absolute quality, with the help of Paul and his highly trained team.
Two recent food critics gave this business rave reviews with one of the highest scores ever given at 18 out of 20 by Eddie Eats of The Sunday Sun. These are to be taken note of as kind words are not given away lightly by these culinary experts.
Whilst the restaurant is the main eating area, the pub also boasts a 65 seater function room which caters for Christenings, Birthdays, Weddings, etc. If you have something to celebrate, you need look no further. We are also ideal for business meetings as the premises has Wi-Fi throughout. Larger celebrations can be catered for with a marquee in the gardens.
