NewcastleGateshead Comedy Festival

The NewcastleGateshead Comedy Festival will present shows at The Sage Gateshead, As You Like It, The Cornerhouse and Northumbria University. The festival features many excellent stand-up comedians performing acclaimed one-hour shows, as well as an opening variety show and a closing show featuring some of the best comics from the North East.

On Monday 1 March the festival launch show, a glorious modern-day variety show features the fabulous compere talents of Radio Newcastle DJ and stand-up comedian Alfie Joey who is very well known on Tyneside. The show also features the critically acclaimed stand-up comedy talents of Paul Kerensa, who has many successful Edinburgh festival shows under his belt.

On Sunday 7 March the Festival's glorious closing show will feature five great comedians all born and bred in the North East of England. Never Mind The Buzzcocks star Gavin Webster is your host and compere and introduces the fabulous and hugely experienced Dave Johns, TV star and local legend Patrick Monahan, and brilliant rising stars Tony Jameson and Carl Hutchinson.
