AV Festival 10

AV Festival, the international festival of electronic arts and one of the North East's flagship festivals takes place 5-14 March in NewcastleGateshead, Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

The festival includes high quality public commissions, exhibitions, performances, film screenings and workshops at the cutting edge of art, science and technology.

Working in partnership with many of the North East’s outstanding cultural venues the festival aims to enhance the region’s international reputation as a centre for creativity and innovation.

AV Festival 10 will be based on the theme of Energy and will explore energy as a force through which all of life is connected, transformed, renewed and destroyed. This universal theme will inspire new artistic work and create dynamic new experiences for audiences.

From its origins in 2003 AV Festival has grown into an event of international standing. The previous two festivals have attracted over 70,000 visitors to events and over 200,000 people have experienced the festival through its extended radio, online and outdoor programmes.
