NewcastleGateshead’s world-class international dance festival celebrates dance and movement from around the globe with performances from home-grown and international artists.
Highlights include the explosive new production, Cattle Call, from Phoenix Dance Theatre, a collaboration by choreographer Javier De Frutos and composer of Jerry Springer – The Opera, Richard Thomas. Rennie Harris Puremovement (USA) return to Newcastle with their passionate blend of hip hop dance theatre; Kim Itoh and the Glorious Future (Japan) are featured in East Wind’08, four days of performances that feature contemporary work from the east; UK companies Probe and Bonachela Dance Company complete the lineup.
A programme of workshops, talks and exhibitions for everyone accompanies this month-long celebration of dance, including a special day for families on Mon 5 May.
